Memories
For this production we decided to use Haze and Smoke and something called a geyser for special effects. We had gotten permission from the Simsbury B of E to use these items and arranged with the Simsbury Fire Department to have a Fireperson on firewatch at the high School. This involved turning off the smoke alarms in the auditorium. All went well until our final Sunday matinee, when unfortunately something glitched and in the middle of Act 2 as Dorothy and Friends entered the Wizard's chamber, the fire alarm went off. This is a photo of the cast exiting the school. After 10 minutes all was restored and the show continued. As Dorothy (Kim Wright) entered the Wizard's chamber (again) she said, "Funny, it seems like I've been here before." This brought thunderous applause from the audience).
